The area of O Rosal is along the mouth of the River Miño, on its right bank. It includes the municipalities of O Rosal, Tomiño, A Guarda and the parishes of Pexegueiro, Areas, Paramós, Ribadelouro, Rebordáns, Pazos de Reis, Randufe and Tui in the municipality of Tui and the parishes of Mañufe and Vilaza in the municipality of Gondomar.
From A Guarda, right beside the sea, we can see the estuary of the river Miño. On Mount Santa Tecla, which is a spectacular viewpoint, we recommend you to visit the most important Celt settlement in Galicia, which was later modified by the Roman (5th century b.C.). The mount is full of petroglyphs and prehistoric engravings. On the mountaintop you will find the Archaeological Museum, with an important stone map and a collection of swastikas.
Near the O Rosal there is an interesting group of watermills. 50 stone crosses can also be found in this area (all of them dating from the 16th to 18th centuries).
Tomiño has important churches of Romanesque style. Santa María de Tebra (12th century) with a valuable polygonal apse. From this church there is a rural path that leads us to the Tower of Tebra (14th century) with a beautiful stone building. Not very far from here we can visit the Romanesque Church of San Salvador de Tebra (13th century).
